Zeolites have a porous structure that can accommodate a wide variety of cations, which are rather loosly held and can readily be exchanged for others in a constant solution. Hence Zeolite is commonly used as absorbent by ion exchange method. Accumulate of excess feed, undigested feed, fecal matter of shrimp leads to deterioration of the pond bottom. Running mortality is one of the most commonly affecting disease on farming shrimp.
